Good Friday

Last night, as we said our family prayers together, before bed, I prayed of how I'm not worthy of the enormous amount of love that God has for me, that He would give His one and only Son just so that I (and all the world) could be washed clean. I included my gratitude, naturally. This, of course, made for an emotional prayer from mommy, so when I opened my eyes there were three little ones who were looking on with confused and sad eyes. I explained that there was nothing to be sad about. God believes that we are worthy, because we are His children. He doesn't have to give it a second thought. As a parent, I understand that completely. Knowing that Jesus physically suffered horribly and took/takes full responsibility for my sin, though, is a little harder for me to swallow. I am humbled by His grace.

Today on this Good Friday, just as I do every day that I am blessed with breath, I thank God for His amazing, unfailing love.
