Taking Life for Granted

This past Saturday night, I laid awake trying so desperately to fall asleep. Last week went by so quickly, and Saturday night I wallowed in self pity. I couldn't understand how the week had gone by that quickly, and on it's last night I lay in my bed feeling so unaccomplished and worthless. Through all that self pity God showed me a different perspective of the past week. On Monday Darrell and I sat side by side at the foot of our bed as we took turns praying for God to bring us good news and comfort. Every morning, evening, and night I listened to my children say the absolute most precious prayers. Ella sang a song with words that we could understand, for the first time. Gabriel hit two home runs. I found Lindsey in her room one evening reading her Bible and taking notes. We went for a walk everyday last week and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Darrell helped out by cooking a dinner or two. My best friend called from TN and left a message on my machine. Her voice always makes me happy. Gabriel made his AR goal with 96%. Lindsey and Gabriel both survived a week of CRCT's and we celebrated with ice cream. Ella found a book that she and I enjoyed reading together approximately sixty times last week. >:0) She laughed at my funny voice as I read each page. We had a picnic dinner in the park on Friday, and then played long after the sun went down. Saturday we walked down the street to enjoy Citifest, where all three babes jumped inside of the jumping castle, Lindsey got her face painted, Ella got kissed by Trigger (G'ville's drug dog), and Darrell and Gabriel went gaga over a few show chickens and free puppies. he,he. In the midst of all of my worry, doubt, fear, and struggle, my world kept going...and it was wonderful.

Thank you, Lord. I couldn't have found rest without your help.

Relishing in His goodness...

Those pictures are so amazing. You are going to have to take some pictures of my kids when we visit...because I am the worst photographer ever.

Wonderful how God can bring to mind so many great moments in the mist of self doubt. He is good!

So glad that he was able to lift your spirits and show you what a fantastic week you had with your babies!
