My Little Sister

Growing up with a sister who is just four days shy of being seventeen months younger than you can feel like a blessing...and a curse.

My little sister tortured me. She read my diary and spilled it's contents out to her friends. She teased me when I began to "blossom", although she quickly followed. She drove my friends nuts when they'd call or come over. She was always the bossy baby of the family. She could really be a pain when she wanted to be!
(This was Halloween night. We were sorting out our candy. She's the one in red, who's more than likely eye-balling my candy. She always took all of my chocolate. That's our older sister, Amy, in blue.)

She was also one of my closest friends. We stayed up all night long, every Christmas Eve, waiting for the sun to come up because we were so anxious to open our presents. We practiced harmonizing our voices for hours upon end in hopes that we would, some day, sing in church together. We took up for one another when need be. We shared friends, and sat together at lunch in High School everyday. Once she made it up to High school, that is. We constantly played jokes on people who would call, by pretending to be the other. Our voices and laugh are so similar it's scary. As adults, we don't get to see one another as often as we'd like, but we talk often. I don't know what I'd do without my baby sister.
(My dad always seemed to have a vintage sofa. ahhh haaa! And this was taken in the 90's. She and I are on the far left.)

Happy birthday, Alicia. Praying that the Lord blesses you, abundantly, in the last year of your twenties. :0) Remember all the jokes you cracked about me turning thirty? You can bet I'll be returning the favor a year from now! tee hee

I love you so very much. I'm beyond proud of you at this point, and pray that you continue on your path of greatness.

xoxo
