I didn't forget about you...

I wanted to thank those of you who responded to my last post. Your encouraging words and love are very much appreciated and mean more to me than you know. I thank God for each of you. Hugs.

I believe that the Lord created many diversions for me last week, and believe me, I'm praising Him for each of them! Not only did our dryer go out, but our oven went out, last week, as well. The switch needs to be replaced. Someone came out to work on it, Saturday, but didn't have the right part. He said that he couldn't come back until Monday (today, as I am typing this in the middle of the night). So, yeah. No oven. No dryer. And no proper heat, to boot. Our home is old. There is no insulation in the walls. The windows are massive and quite drafty. Even when the heat is working properly, you can't really tell. I'm beginning to feel like Diane Keaton's character in Baby Boom. You know how she moves into the old house and just as winter approaches everything that could go wrong, does go wrong? Yep. That's us! One becomes quite resourceful in situations like these. We're alive and making things work. This has to be a test. I'm determined not to fail!

My two older kiddos each had Christmas parties at school, Friday. I spent most of the day in their classrooms, as well as at lunch with them. It was a bittersweet day, as I thought about it being (possibly...more than likely) their last Christmas celebration spent in the public school atmosphere. As I watched them interact with their friends and teachers, as well as with my sister (who works at their school) and my nephew, I couldn't help but wonder if I was doing the right thing by choosing to homeschool them in the Fall. I'm praying fervently for the Lord to reveal to me what I should do. I need to do more research on homeschooling groups in our community.

These are some pictures from the super fun school day:

Gabriel's classroom was destroyed! Those third graders were having a great time. It looked like a tornado hit that room by the end of the day. :0/ Ella was tossed about from person to person, whether it was in my sisters room, the lunchroom, or the kids classrooms. She got all kinds of attention....and goodies. All three of my children were on a sugar high that afternoon.

Relishing in His goodness...
