He makes all things New

Be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead!- I Peter 1:6

What a wonderful sense of assurance for this new year! There is joy ahead. I say Amen to that.

Today, we are celebrating at home. Just our little (while sometimes feeling much larger than not!) family unit. We've got a ham cooking, as well as black eyed peas (The peas cooking have nothing to do with the old superstition, and all to do with the fact that my husband LOVES them with ham.).

Last night we opted out of celebrating with friends (but we appreciated the invite nonetheless) and, instead, had "family night". We played a few rounds of Sorry before heading out to catch a late movie. We made it home just in time to watch the Georgia Peach drop (literally within three minutes of our arrival home!). Just enough time to gather hand-in-hand in prayer to say goodbye to 2009, and thank God for the memories we made and the blessings received, as well as for the ones that are to come. Best New Years Eve I've had yet! I hope that my kiddos remember times like that when they are older. :0)

How did you ring in the new year? How are you celebrating today? I pray that in 2010 the Lord uses you to bless, and be blessed! :0)

Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit. 3 John 1:2

Relishing in His goodness...
