Ideal World

In my ideal world messes would clean themselves, gray hair would be nonexistent, my ears would take a lot less abuse from arguing children, and the 5:30 a.m. buzzing of our alarm clock would be a thing of the past.

However, these things are not only completely selfish in my desire, but are minuscule in comparison to the devastating images our news channels are covered in.

Among other things, on this thankful Thursday, I am thankful for the fact that when my heart can't take seeing one more child searching, grown men burying their heads in their hands, or groups of people frantically digging their loved ones out of rubble, I can simply turn off the television and pray in the comfort of a home that is intact, with the knowledge that my family are all alive and well.

I'm counting my blessings and pray you are counting yours as well.

Relishing in His goodness...

Ah, I'm with you. My heart is so heavy for the Haitians. Largely, they are an unsaved population, as well. That's the worst part of it all.

I also am thankful for the ability to close the computer or turn off that TV when it brings me to that place! Sitting and sobbing is a blessing, as it allows us to trevail for those on our hearts...but we don't have to be immersed continually as many around the world do..what a blessing.

Thank you for your post, and I wanted to say that I love your blog. I don't have enough time to comment as I'd like, but the look, feel and content of your blog is very welcoming!

You take care and may God richly bless you today.

It is a blessing to not be engulfed in that disaster or in the grief. Still, my heart aches, and my prayers are fervent. Such a tragedy.

I'm so sorry I'm just getting to this. I'm scatter brained most days. Thank you so very much. I enjoy your blog, as well. :0)
