Ideal World

In my ideal world messes would clean themselves, gray hair would be nonexistent, my ears would take a lot less abuse from arguing children, and the 5:30 a.m. buzzing of our alarm clock would be a thing of the past.

However, these things are not only completely selfish in my desire, but are minuscule in comparison to the devastating images our news channels are covered in.

Among other things, on this thankful Thursday, I am thankful for the fact that when my heart can't take seeing one more child searching, grown men burying their heads in their hands, or groups of people frantically digging their loved ones out of rubble, I can simply turn off the television and pray in the comfort of a home that is intact, with the knowledge that my family are all alive and well.

I'm counting my blessings and pray you are counting yours as well.

Relishing in His goodness...
