The older two babes came home from school with our very favorite thing...book fair ads! Gabriel brought his to me, pointing to a Taylor Swift book while whispering, "Mama, I want to get Lindsey this book if it's okay with you. I have enough money in my piggy bank to buy it. But don't tell her. I want to give it to her for Valentine's Day.". I agreed that it would be a sweet gesture.
(sniff, sniff)
If that wasn't precious enough, when he left the room, Lindsey came in with her ad and pointed to The Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and said, "Do you think I can buy this one for Gabriel? I can give it to him for Valentine's Day. I think I have enough money in my piggy bank for it.". In the middle of our conversation, Gabriel popped back in and excitedly reported that there was a Diary of the Wimpy Kid book that he hasn't read and he REALLY wanted it. Lindsey shot me that "I really want to get him that book!" look.
I love the fact that it brings them joy to make the other happy. Random acts of sibling kindness is a complete blessing...if only it would happen more often. :0)
