Baking Valentine Treats With My Sweet Cheeks

Ingredients:
1 Box Duncan Hines Red Velvet Cake Mix
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil

Mix all ingredients together to make the cookie dough.

Roll into balls and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.

Flatten down slightly.

Bake at 375° until the tops crackle (about 8-10 minutes) or until desired doneness.

Cool completely, then frost and add sprinkles.

I found this really easy, and super yummy red velvet cookie recipe on my friend Karyn's blog (THANK YOU, MA!) and couldn't wait to make these with the kids. I thought they'd be the perfect treat for Valentine's Day for them to share with their teachers and classmates, however, the Lord had other plans for us...and for those yummy cookies. We were snowed in yesterday (the most snow I've seen in years...I'll post pictures soon), so the babes enjoyed a "snow day" at home with mommy. Lindsey and I baked the cookies, instead, for our little family and they were absolutely delish! I allowed each child to decorate their own cookie, so it was fun for them, too. I was a lazy bum and took the easy way out...I bought cream cheese frosting and used that instead of making my own. If you'd like to make your own you can find the recipe here (Again, thank you Karyn! I'm so thankful you shared the recipe and helped to make those cookies our new family favorite!). :0)

While not near as pretty as Karyn's, these cookies were the perfect Valentine treat! The recipe made 35 cookies for us, and the kids had a blast decorating their own cookies. We had a lot of fun with this recipe. :0)

Enjoy!

Relishing in His goodness...
