The Much Needed Vacation

We haven't been on a vacation/out of state since the beginning of 2008. Our trip to North Carolina last week was a sweet escape from our busy life here in Georgia....and long overdue!

Naturally, we made many stops along the way. Three children equals many potty breaks! Our first stop...South Carolina welcome center.

We were welcomed into the state by several honks heard from I-20 as we were taking this picture. :0)

There were probably fifty billboard signs advertising this place before we finally got to it. The kids begged to stop....and we did. However, nothing was open. With the exception of a few dumpy shops, that is. Bet it was a neato place in it's day. :0)

Once we finally made it to our destination in North Carolina, we were greeted by our family...including the newest addition, baby Grayson! My precious nephew is amazing. He's extremely content, and tiny. He has that new baby smell that I could relish in for the rest of my days.

We had a blessed time spent with our family in North Carolina. We got to meet my brother-in-laws parents, and ate the best authentic Italian dinner that was out of this world delicious. We played at a beautiful park where all of the adults acted like kids again on the swings.

Have I mentioned that my husband has the tendency of being one of the funnest people I know?

I'm so happy we got to go. Our vacation didn't end there, however. We made a few stops on the way home.

Our first stop was Myrtle Beach, SC.

While we arrived later than we had hoped, we headed strait for the beach to find seashells and play in the sand. Even Darrell indulged in a little sand fun.

Unfortunately, we woke up the next morning to a bit of rain. Still, the scenery was beautiful and it was a pleasant first time adventure to Myrtle Beach.

Soon we were back on the road and found an interesting piece of American history in Camden, SC.

Loved our vacation but there's really no place like home. The drive back was a long sleepy one.

We've been home for a week, and life is back to normal. Busy schedules, chores, school projects and such. I wouldn't trade it for the world, though.

Relishing in His goodness....
