It's that time of year! Finally, the South has found a reprieve from those hot and humid Summer months in the form of crisp autumn air, vibrant hues tinging the leaves, and the sweet, sweet smell of cinnamon seeping from the pores of every pumpkin-spiced queen that passes you by! Yes, indeed! It's Fall, y'all!
I recently read a quote that's too good not to share. "The weather just went from 95 to 55 like it saw a state trooper!" Ha!
We recently spent a gorgeous day at Callaway Gardens for their Pumpkins at Callaway event. This lover of all things Autumn was giddy at the way that scrumptious Fall day filled my senses to the very brim. The sun was shining bright despite the slight chill in the air that deemed itself worthy of a blue jean jacket and my chilly hand nestled into his great big ole warm man hand. There were copious amounts of pumpkins/gourds, cornucopias, a vast array of colorful mums, hay bales, Fall food and drinks, decorative light displays, music, corn mazes, resplendently grown sunflowers, bubbles (so many bubbles!), and trolleys! Once the sun went down, a gazillion twinkling lights added to the aesthetics, at Mr. Cason's Garden, where one could play corn hole, ogle at the massively grown pumpkins on display (we're talking over 1,000 pounds of gourdage!), go through a labyrinth of mazes, feed your soul with an abundance of live music, eat, drink, and just be merry in a sea of teeny floating bubbles. Speaking of which, my fella was amongst one of the masses who just HAD TO HAVE A BUBBLE WAND. Heh! He made certain that his love was covered in/ingesting bubbles all evening long! He embellishes my world and makes life extra enjoyable. I am pretty certain that God made him just for me. :)
A short trolley-ride back to the beach area will bring you to the life of the party! I'm talking food trucks a'plenty, impressive light displays including a walk-through, a dance party, glow-in-the-dark mini golf, more corn hole, shopping, stage shows, etc!
The mush factor is about to get unapologetically real! The best part of it all, hands down, was getting to experience all of that with my children and fella. What a sweet Fall blessing for our little family! 10 out of 10...highly recommend. Can't wait to go back for the Christmas holidays!
