Celebrating Our Jacob

His twelfth birthday was spent at our well-loved kitchen table, just his siblings and I, eating the dinner that he chose for me to cook, the brownies his sisters made, and playing Cards Against Humanity Family Edition. It was the BEST night! We laughed until our cheeks hurt.  He got a new phone (his first phone!) and a new study Bible with a carrying case from his mama. His siblings got him gift cards and goody bags.
Luke got here before the sun came up, that morning, bringing Jacob two Boston Cream Donuts from Dunkin. He placed them in Jacob's schooling spot to find when he woke up for school. That was a sweet surprise, making Jacob smile from ear-to-ear at the thoughtful gesture.

He continuously expressed his gratitude throughout the day, and felt mighty blessed going to bed that night.

He'd only have to wait two more days for the second round of celebrations! As he requested, he and all of the guys went ax throwing while us girls set up a party, for him, at the park. I brought all of his sports equipment and, once the guys got there, they played for hours in the big field. We had pizza, grapes, chips, and a cookie cake. I think I can speak for him when I express gratitude for the amount of love that showed up to his celebration. We are so thankful to each of you who came out. He had an absolute blast! And we were all so super exhausted, falling into our beds that night. So exhausted, in fact, that we woke up late for Sunday school, the next morning! Ack.

Here are some photos from that day:

Our family is blessed with eminent love. So many thanks to those of you who were able to celebrate Jacob with us! You all blessed our souls so well with your sweet presence!

Relishing in HIS goodness...
